Mike Brady (Perendev) released from prison
Back in S. Africa, Mike says he is piecing his life back together,
preparing a demo device, so he can sell off his technology to someone else. A
blog site is pending.
Pure Energy Systems News
I got my start in the world of exotic free energy 12.5 years ago looking into
the claims of Mike Brady and his Perendev all-magnet motor. We were hoping to
help wrap a team around this to bring it to market. I still own https://Perendev.com,
which forwards to our PESWiki coverage of the motor.
Four and a half years ago, we reported that Mike Brady was arrested
on March 29, 2010 for embezzling 61 German customers' money in the amount of
around 1 million Euros, and that the company, Perendev, closed
We've also reported that Brazilian patent BR8900294A
filed in 1989, now expired, which pre-dates Brady's design by a few years, is
nearly identical to his; and that the Brazilian inventor recalls being contacted
by a guy from S. Africa who had "far too many questions;" and he later
recognized his voice when watching one of the videos of Brady's magnet motor.
Brady gave no credit to the Brazilian inventor but claimed to have come up with
the design himself. (That inventor does not want to be contacted.)
The Brazilian's prototype, which he had to show to the Brazilian patent office
in order to get his patent, allegedly worked, but was expensive, inasmuch as it
used ceramic magnets that degauss fairly rapidly compared to neodymiums, which
is what Brady used.
Now Mike is out of prison, released in the past few days, and has returned to S.
Africa; and it seems he's in a foul mood, not acknowledging wrongdoing. On
October 26, he sent me this message by email in response to my inquiry about his
intentions: (slightly edited)
I will be doing a show, and then I am going to sell all my tech, as I feel what I have been through, mankind does not deserve my
tech. The new owners can do what they like. However, I have seen that you are putting the drawings on the
net. I am still the owner of the tech, not "Perendev" so bearing that in
mind. You had no right to place what is not yours on the net. Another thing you
forgot is that you wrote a lot about me on the net, and got all the facts wrong, you never considered that just maybe, I was a victim of an injustice.
The non-disclosure agreement I had signed with Mike was long expired (3 years
duration?), and one of the last things Mike had told me before he was
incarcerated was that he planned on open sourcing his magnet motor design, since
it was far inferior to his electromagnetic variation (the alleged 100 kW and 300
kW systems). If I remember right, he made that statement in a recorded interview
with me, which I published, with his permission.
A couple of years ago, when I made that multi-stop trip through Europe, one of
the places I was considering going was to visit Mike in prison in Germany, but the timing
and budget didn't allow it; nor was it a high priority, given that I didn't have
much confidence that Mike genuinely did not deserve to be locked up, as he was
hoping to make his case to me. I could be wrong about that, but the evidence,
especially the Brazilian patent, doesn't suggest that. Even though that is not
why he was incarcerated, emotionally, it seemed to lend credence to me -- both
of Brady's guilt, and of the legitimacy of the technology that he apparently
Here are a couple of email memos I received from him today in asking what his
plans are and if I can post his email:
Not at this time, I am trying to sort out my life, build a new machine for a show demo, and then sell out.
We are completing the blog site and will advise you of the address.
With Brady's release, Nuri
Temurlenk made me aware of yet another video,
posted nearly two years ago, showing an apparent replication of the design, this one out of Turkey:
This brings to around ten allegedly successful replicas
that I've become aware of over the years.
I wish Mike well in his endeavor to pass the baton for his technology. I hope
whoever buys it does the proper due diligence as to its working and its worth.
Mike wanted $500 million for a US license to roll it out back in 2002. It might
fetch that after being in the marketplace for several years and all the bugs
worked out. Like so many inventors and entrepreneurs, he seemed bitten by gold
fever, overtaken by greed, not to mention the lack of integrity he had about
acknowledging where the technology came from, as well as its shortcomings. May
calmer heads prevail.

I received the following email from Mike, responding to this story: (no editing)

Sterling, I would like to say, that firstly, the motor that was built and shown on the Internet, was built in 1998, and come from the original that I built in 1969 this was the clambshell motor, so how can I have stolen his design, I think that you write this just to get a kick out of putting someone down, stop it, you are going to get yourself into a lot of trouble, as far as me doing something wrong, again you are wrong and don't know the facts, what is it you want? Have you got a hair up your arse? Is that what it's about, just like the guys from Berlin, who tried to discredit me in Court, at this time I think they must be very nervous knowing that after what they said in court there is going to be legal repacussions, and they will be sued for deformation of caracter and will take every cent from them.
What people should do is think before opening their mouth to discredit someone.
By way of personal observation when I was with Mike in Johannesburg. As he
was driving us around, giving us a tour of Johannesburg (he was a very gracious
host), he stopped at a roadside vendor selling DVDs that were pirated, and
bought a few. As a former policeman, Mike explained that this was the situation
and didn't seem to have any compunction against that, and I took mental note of
I've been making this statement for years about this Brazilian patent, and this
is the first time Mike has provided a rebuttal, now claiming what he said above.
