LENR-to-Market Weekly -- July 5, 2012

Highlights this week include: report on an International LENR Symposium in Williamsburg, VA, including lecture by Robert Duncan, Vice Chancellor for Research at University of Missouri on "The Mystery of Cold Fusion"; alleged 600C solid state E-Cat and ramifications; Defkalion press release; National Instruments involved with many LENR projects.

Dr. Robert Duncan discussed a series of experiments that they are conducting within the Sidney Kimmel Institute for Nuclear Renaissance at the University of Missouri that are designed to elucidate the physical mechanism that is responsible for the Anomalous Heat Effect (AHE).

Pure Energy Systems News

Once again, we bring you a compilation of various news items about the various LENR companies since our June 28 compilation.

Mainstream news sources are indicated with the yellow highlight.

See also Cold Fusion Times.

  • LENR Companies
    • Rossi, Leonardo Corp - E-Cat
      • The New Solid State E-Cat - When first introduced to the world, Andrea Rossi's E-Cat required a flow of water to remain stable, even at low temperatures. Now, he has developed a new "solid state" high temperature model that is stable at temperatures even higher than 600C -- with no cooling needed! (PESN; June 30, 2012)
        • Solid State Energy Catalyzer Speculation from PESN - PESN - a new model of E-Cat (Rossi Energy Catalyzer) has been developed. It is a model that can remain stable at very high temperatures without the need for coolant. In fact, it could be considered a solid state E-Cat. This is not the official name of the new model, but it seems an appropriate description. (NextBigFuture; July 4, 2012)
        • Rossi: High Temperature Report Will be Validated by Customer - On July 1st Andrea Rossi made a comment on the Journal of Nuclear Physics which seems to have escaped much discussion here so far. Regarding the upcoming report on the testing of the high temperature E-Cats, Rossi said, "I suggest to wait for the report we officially will publish for the validation in course,... (E-CatWorld; July 3, 2012)
        • Rossi Claims to Have 20 LENR Units up and Running at 600 Degrees Celsius - Andrea Rossi is now claiming to have at least twenty ecat Low Energy Nuclear Reaction (LENR) devices operating a temperature of 600 degrees Celsius. He also claims that they will up and running for 20,000 hours as part of a test. That means the reactors would have to run for about 42 days for the test to be completed. Rossi made this statement on his blog. (EnergyCatalyzer3; June 30, 2012)
        • E-Cat: Rossi promises independent data on the operation - Andrea Rossi said that soon will announce the test results of an anonymous client would do the E-Cat. Strict confidentiality about the nature of these tests. (; July 4, 2012)
      • Scorching Solid State E-Cat Temperatures Allow for Countless Applications - The new high temperature, solid state E-Cat technology is said to produce temperatures of well over 600C. Such extreme temperatures allow for numerous applications, including: electricity production via utility steam turbines, Stirling engines, and thermophotovoltaics; ocean and locomotive transport; sanitation; and space travel. (PESN; July 3, 2012)
        • More Applications For The E-cat - Once again, a simple statement by Andrea Rossi on his blog site, Journal of Nuclear Physics, has stirred the imagination. Rossi agreed with a frequent poster and contributor on his site, Iggy Dalrymple,… (ECatReport; July 5, 2012)
      • Humor
        • E-cat Schematics Leaked to Public - The E-cat is finally out-of-the-bag so to speak. In the artist rendering above, the heretofore top-secret "special sauces" that power the inner workings of Rossi's mystery E-cat are finally available for official third-party independent analysis. (TheTimChannel; June 28, 2012)
    • Defkalion - Hyperion
      • June 29, 2012 Press Release (Defkalion-Energy)
Following our absence from the public sphere, the following is a status update:
We are conducting analyses of our materials using XRF and ICP-MS. We are committed that this analysis be done with the highest standards. To ensure these high standards, we are using multiple laboratories in Europe. When those results are available, we shall present them in the appropriate forum.
We also have designed and are operating a fully instrumented flow calorimeter to measure the power production of our reactor. Outside scientists and engineers are measuring the input power as well as our flow calorimeter output performance. All these results will be presented when we are confident that they will withstand the scrutiny demanded by our own interests in product development, and the scrutiny of our customers.
We thank you for your continued interest in our challenging and important work load.
      • Stremmenos Speaks Out Again on Defkalion - A new post appeared today on Andrea Rossi's Journal of Nuclear Physicis written by Christos Stremmenos, former professor of physics at the University of Bologna, and a former board member of Defkalion Green Technologies (DGT). Stremmenos states that he was responding to DGT's recent interview with Peter Gluck and says that his purpose for... (E-CatWorld; July 4, 2012)
    • NanoSpire, Inc.
      • Validated LeClair Cavitation Erosion Equation Predicts Cavitation Fusion Using Standard Physics - "The first validated and highly accurate general equation for cavitation erosion prediction. It is the E = MC2 of cavitation fusion. It predicts D-T fusion conditions are reached during cavitation reentrant jet impact into medium strength or higher materials. The LeClair cavitation erosion equation establishes the first sound theoretical basis for all types of cavitation fusion and is based only on well known and straightforward standard physics." (PESN; June 29, 2012)
  • General Cold Fusion
    • National Instruments Deeply Involved With Many LENR Projects (Briefed EU)  Thanks to E-Cat World reader 'un passante' who sent the report of a talk given by Stefano Concezzi, director of National Instruments' Science and Big Physics Segment. The talk was given at yet another meeting about LENR — "Towards a non-polluting energy revolution" — a meeting held today, July 2 in Rome, Italy. A... (E-CatWorld; July 2, 2012) (And Concezzi gave a list of NI collaborations at the moment:

      • Hagelstein, MIT mathematical model – software applications (different theory)
      • Los alamos national lab
      • University of Missouri
      • University of Bologna, Levi – he mentioned a sponsorship for a lab of the physics department. so here we go beyond a simple collaboration. he also spoke about Levi as the "heir" of Focardi (I guess this is also a way to keep in touch with Rossi)

    • Commentary
      • Criteria for a Successful LENR Device - With several companies claiming to be developing low energy nuclear reaction (LENR) devices many of us are probably wondering what criteria a successful LENR or cold fusion device would have to meet.
        I. It would have to operate continuously for several weeks or several months straight.
II. The LENR device would have to generate high temperatures on a constant basis.
III. You would have to be able to easily control the device. (ColdFusion3; July 2, 2012)

NOTE: NOTE: We have replaced the previous Echo comment service with Disqus. The old Echo database of comments has now been imported into Disqus. The old comments are loaded in date received order. This will mean that if say, someone posted a reply a week after a comment was posted, then it will appear before the original post does (in other words jumbling up will occur in the normal Parent/Child pattern of replies) and comments will not follow a logical order. However, comments you have made/make in Disqus since the changeover date will appear in the normal order of appearance.

ADVISORY: With any technology, you take a high risk to invest significant time or money unless (1) independent testing has thoroughly corroborated the technology, (2) the group involved has intellectual rights to the technology, and (3) the group has the ability to make a success of the endeavor.
All truth passes through three stages:
   First, it is ridiculed;
Second, it is violently opposed; and
Third, it is accepted as self-evident.
