Perendev Magnet Motor History and Update
Mike Brady has stirred the imagination of many thousands with his claim
to an operational all-magnet motor, with no other input energy source than
magnets, which cause rotation when arranged in a proper alignment.
NOTICE:
Since the time of this interview (as of April 25, 2007), no validation of any of the claims made in this interview has been accomplished.

MUNICH, GERMANY Mike Brady and I have a deeply intertwined history that
dates back nearly five years. Our relationship has ranged from business
associates to distant observers, but has remained mostly friendly throughout. I
do believe that he has a viable technology that could potentially provide a
clean energy solution for the planet, but I have not yet witnessed it in
operation, though I have sought to do so a number of times, and am still in
process of seeking the opportunity to go see and validate his claims, either in
person or through a representative in the New Energy Congress. I still own the
domain name: perendev.com, which forwards to our independent coverage at PESWiki.
I commenced my work in alternative energy in earnest largely as a result of
Mike. Shortly after I commenced an index page featuring a smattering of free
energy technologies in around April, 2002, Mike sent me an email with a link to
his magnetic motor website. We commenced correspondence, and I began arranging
to sponsor a tour of his motor throughout the United States, along with
assembling a team of people to help manufacture and market the device both in
the U.S. and internationally. On at least two occasions, tickets were in hand (I
confirmed that) for Mike to fly to the U.S. Once it was delayed due to the
Orange alert raised due to a terrorist threat. The other time it was postponed
due to his partner getting shingles. The third postponement came because the
motor had started to malfunction due to internal eddy currents in the
all-aluminum rotor-stator arrangement, creating a braking effect.
The video that tens of
thousands of people (if not a million) have seen, which shows Mikes magnet
motor in operation, was shot a couple months after my associates and I journeyed
to Johannesburg to see the motor and cement our business relationship in
December of 2002. We drove with Mike in his Mercedes to pick up the newly
fabricated, polypropylene parts from the machine shop. I helped assemble it. But
we were not able to get it running during the week that we were there.
I did ask one of Mikes close associates Did you see the motor (earlier
iteration) running?
He looked me in the eye and said, Yes.
I'm still, all these years later repaying loans taken to make that trip, but am
glad I went.
The video that emerged after our visit is not skeptic proof, inasmuch as Mike
does not do a walk-around during acceleration. The walk around takes place as
Mikes maid (who I met while at his home) walked into the room, at which time
he changes the camera angle to save the shot from the interruption.
While skeptics can easily imagine a cheater device being used during
acceleration, I do not think that Mike would do that. The behavior of the motor
in commencing rotation as the clam-shell stators are brought into position is
consistent with magnetic forces being at play, and match inversely the behavior
of the motor as it comes to a stop due to the clam-shell stators being opened
away from the three off-set rotors.

Doug Furr, Ph.D. Mechanical Engineer, built
1/4-scale replica of Brady's Perendev magnetic motor for PerenTech,
founded by myself.

Some time later, our team built a Ό-scale version of Mikes motor, with
some variations. Rather than using a clam-shell arrangement, our machinist
thought to have the stator come in from the side, unbroken. We were not able to
get our replication to turn by itself. The rotation seen in the video
that is in circulation of our replication is due to the shaft being spun by
hand. (If someone would like to attempt to get the proper magnet combination in
our replication under my supervision, I would be willing to let them try.)
Tom Valone also built a replication of Mikes motor, and it didnt work
either. One person claims to have successfully replicated Mikes motor, but
that claim has not been verified. Another person says he saw the all-magnet
motor in operation in Germany, where Mike had relocated Perendevs
headquarters. Mike had planned on showing the motor on German national
television in the Fall of 2004, but ran into problems with the suppliers of
parts not building to spec. Hence, that demonstration never materialized. The
output power Mike claimed on his website at that time was 30 kilowatts (when
tied to a generator). That is enough to power several homes.
It was around that time that Mike began hatching the idea of using an
electromagnetic arrangement rather than just magnets, to accentuate the effect
he had achieved with just magnets. In the Spring of 2006, he announced that he
would hold a public demonstration of a 300 kilowatt electromagnetic motor. That
demonstration was postponed once due to the World Cup soccer game being held
there. It was then called off due to not enough people signing up to come see
the demo.
In an attempt to help Mike save face and bring credibility to his claims, I
offered to have a member (or two) of the New Energy Congress come in and
validate the technology, which witness we would then publish on our website. He
was amenable to doing that, but every time we tried to actually schedule a time,
he said he was tied up with licensees from various nations. Presently, were
waiting for him to finish relocating, after which he said he would let us come
in.
Of course there is a lot more to this story. Despite all the broken promises,
failed hopes, charges of fraud, friendships turned sour not always just from
the receiving end Mike forges ahead.
Ive tried talking him out of expecting such high license fees. Ive tried
to advise him to let someone else run the business portion. But as a
larger-than-life type of personality, he is not dissuaded.
The Irish company, Steorn recently garnered international attention with their
claim to having built a working free energy machine and all-magnet motor,
which present physics says is impossible. You can only imagine the interest that
will arise when someone actually produces such a device for all to see
unequivocally, confirmed by the academic community and sold commercially.
Will Mike be the first? He certainly is not the only one. So his price better be
reasonable, and his engineering, solid; or others will quickly surpass him,
despite his being first.
One thing that can definitely be said to his favor is that he has stirred the
imagination of many, which is likely to bear fruit in providing cleaner, more
affordable and reliable energy for the planet. We are coming into a day when
each car will be fitted with a power source that never needs to be refilled or
recharged, as will each appliance and each home and business. An energy
revolution is upon us, and Mike Brady is one of its famed pioneers, whether or
not he is able to bring his technology forward successfully.

Now, that said, listen to the interview, and see what you think.
