Jaqie Warrior helped profoundly by medical marijuana -- illegal in OK
Our associate at the New Energy Systems Trust, Chip Paul, is chairman
of a group in Oklahoma, USA which is seeking to use an OK constitutional
provision to instigate a new law legalizing medical marijuana. Recently, they've
been harassed by the police, who should be protecting them.
|The following is an open letter to U.S. national news organizations,
encouraging them to cover this story and expand awareness of the many
benefits of medical marijuana and hemp. Point of action: encourage
your favorite national media outlet to cover this. And if you're in OK,
sign the petition.
"Jaqie Angel Warrior is living with a
very rare and potentially deadly form of epilepsy. At 20 months old, she's
been hospitalized 25 times and has up to 150 seizures a day. Doctors say
medical marijuana can help."

I just finished an interview with Chip
Paul, as part of the Rense Radio Network, via
interview begins at time stamp 12:45)
Chip is the Chairman of Oklahomans for Health.
It was a great interview ([unless you're a FE regular,] feel free to bypass the first
12:45 minutes, which was my This Week in Free Energy recap).
He has launched an initiative to use the Oklahoma constitutional allowance for citizens to enact new law directly via petition. He's been using this process to try and legalize medical marijuana in Oklahoma, and has been the recipient of unconstitutional bully tactics from police and others to hamper the initiative.
The campaign has good momentum toward collecting the required 160,000 citizen signatures, but in the past two weeks, police have been showing up with bogus claims of the petitioners not having permits. The consistency of what they say when they show up indicates that there is someone higher up who has issued some kind of memo. That person is acting outside the OK constitution and needs to stop.
The ACLU is getting involved, composing a Federal lawsuit.
Chip's group has photo and video documentation of what happened in nearly every situation to show that they were well within the law but that the police were not.
Meanwhile, the poster child for this cause has been 1.5-year-old Jaqie Warrior, who suffers from a rare disease called
Syndrome. Without any treatment, she has over 100 epileptic seizures per day
-- sometimes up to 150. With traditional medication, those are reduced to around 30 per day, but leave her listless, not herself, sleeping most of the day. But when she takes
CBD oil, a derivative of medical marijuana, she has maybe one seizure per
day and is as alert and energetic as a child her age should be. But to get that treatment, she has to travel to Colorado where it is
now legal to receive such a treatment.
coverage was run the day before the petition started, and before the Warrior's
first trip to Colorado, hence the clothes packed in piles on the couch --
preparing for the trip.]
In Oklahoma, her parents would be felons if they administered that remedy there.
If she had access to the full medical marijuana benefit, it's likely that her seizures could go away completely. The natural oil is non-addictive and has no known side effects.
It is not plausible for her to stay in Colorado, so she presently doesn't have
regular access to that remedy.
Chip would like to see this issue receive national coverage.
One correction I could give on the interview is that hemp oil is very beneficial in curing cancer.

story. There is a channel on our cable system (AT&T U-verse) called A Wealth
of Entertainment (AWE - formerly WealthTV). On it, we saw a very well-presented
program titled Marijuana: The Miracle
Cure 2 Wired for Weed (with wired referring to how our bodies
seem to be made to accept it chemically). In it, they talk about a relatively
newly discovered system in our bodies that researchers are now calling the
Endocannabinoid System (found at time stamp 33:46).

I believe there were some training issues in regards to this situation. These calls can be difficult when someone is alleging a crime, and when the legality of posting signs on public property is questioned. I do not anticipate that the petitioners will have any more problems with officers. If there are, please feel free to contact my office.
