Big Eureka - The Energy Machine of Joseph Newman

personality might be challenging, you can't argue with the overlooked volume of

Embedded below is a compilation of old and new footage of Joseph Newman and his
"Machine that will change the world." Titled "Big Eureka - The Energy Machine of Joseph Newman,"
the documentary is well worth your time.
I've known about Newman since a decade ago when I first started doing Free
Energy News and Directory stuff. He has been at this for over three decades.
The recent coverage I've seen has kind of jaded me against Newman as a person,
but not his technology, which appears to be legitimate. I know several people
who have successfully replicated his work, including David
Wells, as well as a person in a neighboring town (who also traveled with me
to Johannesburg in 2002 to see the Perendev motor), who showed me the apparatus
he built. The feature we posted Saturday: Tom
Ferko's satellite generator, turns out to be an unwitting variation of the
Newman technology. Tom is open sourcing that design.
The number of independent scientists who verified and spoke in favor of Newman's
technology is astonishing. Even a high official in the US patent office was
convinced and disgusted that the USPTO did not award a patent. He's shown on
film in this documentary. A U.S. Congressman tried to get Congress to bypass the
Patent Office, since patent power lies with Congress. He's had a lot of very
influential people, including media, government, academia trying to help him get
his technology to the people.
On March 10, 1987, Congressman Rober W. Kastenmeier, Chairman of the
Subcommittee on Court, Civil Liberties and the Administration of Justice states:
"This is the greatest conspiracy against any human being in the history of
the world."
The description for the video says:
"The undeniable truth Tested, Documented, Replicated, Scrutinized and
Notarized by 40 Scientists at NASA, Yale, ASU, MIT and Organizations all over
the world EXCEPT the US Patent Office? WOW! No Conspiracy here everybody,
nothing to see here, everybody move along.... LOOK, Squirrel!"

What I don't get is why this video, which was
posted on March 23, 2012, has only had 2,528 views so far. With a quick
search, I couldn't find another video like it on YouTube. It should be
approaching millions of visits. It's well done, and the subject matter is
compelling. As good as any Reality Show stuff that gets that kind of traffic.
When I ask myself the question, "Why, after several decades, has this
technology still not arrived in the marketplace?" the biggest response that
comes to mind, at least for me, upon watching Joseph in action is: "Own
worst enemy." He doesn't know how to turn up or down his intensity. It
would be energy-sapping being around him. But I'm sure there is more to it than that.
Despite his shortcomings, I'm convinced he deserves help, both financial as well
as business. He needs a good public face who can interact with people as a human
being, not as a crazy inventor ready to bite everyone's head off for not helping
him more. I'm adding him to the runners up in our Top 5 Exotic Free
Energy Technologies listing, right after Searl.
He deserves to have a team around him, comparable to the team that has
accumulated around John Searl, who is anything but normal himself.

As someone who works with electric motors on a regular basis, I wanted to comment on this video, and possibly shed some light on what is going on inside Newman's motor.
Newman's motor appears to be a switched (or brushed) DC motor. It also appears to be running at very high efficiency, mostly due to the high voltage and light load. However, with the numbers that Newman shows in the video, it appears that the machine is not overunity.
At 00:18:34 you can see that the machine draws 0.5 amps during the "on" pulse. At the 720 volts (which was coming from the 9V batteries in series) and 0.5 amps, the motor draws about 360 watts per pulse. 360 watts (which is roughly 1/2 horsepower) is more than enough to turn a lightly loaded motor that weighs 8,000 to 10,000 pounds -- or even more. Since the rotor is riding on bearings (as Newman clearly states), then the weight of the rotor is irrelevant. Even if the rotor weighed several tons, it could still be turned by hand.
In the video, Newman states that the pump end cannot be turned by hand, and he is right. At 00:18:04 you can see why no one can turn the pump shaft by hand. It has about a 50:1 gear reduction, which you can see from the flywheel cutaway. You could still turn it easily from the motor side. Also, keep in mind that at a 50:1 gear reduction, there is almost no load on the motor.
Newman also stated that "this motor runs on volts, not amps", which is essentially correct. High voltage reduces current losses, and can yield higher efficiency. As a matter of fact, I feel that this motor may be running at near 100% efficiency. However, the power consumption clearly shows no overunity. If he were using 50 or 60 watts, then the possibility would exist -- but not at over 300 watts. A half horsepower motor could easily pump the volume of water that you see in the video.
It's also important to note that large, high-voltage motors that run at near 100% efficiency are currently being produced. Such an example is

motors. All these motors operate at 95% to 100% efficiency. These motor enclosures do have a cooling system, but it is used to cool the drive electronics inside the enclosure, NOT the motor itself.
I hope this helps shed some light on the dynamics of Newman's motor. The video is very well made, but I doubt anyone who gave testimonials has actually tested Newman's motor with a dynamometer. Doing so will show the exact output of the unit, which I estimate to be about 0.5 horsepower. Sometimes, large devices can be deceiving, even to the inventor himself.... but the laws of physics still apply, regardless of size (at least in this case).
