LENR-to-Market Weekly -- May 10, 2012
Highlights this week include Defkalion releasing photos of their recent
3rd-party testing lab set-up as well as of their manufacturing plant being built
in Xanthi, Greece; Rossi's claim of "stability at 'very high'
temperatures; several reports on the LENR conference in Turin.
Defkalion
Progress Photographs (pdf) - On May 10, Defkalion released a pdf
providing a series of photos showing its laboratory near Athens where
the third party testing took place, as well as a few photos from that
testing. They also provide a few photos of their manufacturing plant
under construction in Xanthi, Greece. (Defkalion-Energy; May 10,

Defkalion
Releases Photos of Lab Testing and Factory Preparation
- Just a quick notice to bring attention to the recent release of
photos from Defkalion Green Technologies' recent lab testing and also
of the production facilities that are under construction in Xanthi,
Greece. Some of the photos of the labs include screen shots of data from
measuring equipment in their labs, and astute observers might be able to
make... (E-CatWorld; May 10, 2012)
Brillouin
Brillouin better get a move on
- Robert Godes, "Understanding how LENR works will enable us to be first." However,
Godes' case is that though Rossi has claimed the sale of a 1Mw plant, delivery has not been confirmed. Further he has hardly released a commercial product or even proven conclusively that he has a technology.

NanoSpire
US Company Claims to have Developed New Fusion Process
- A US company called NanoSpire Inc. claims to be able to achieve fusion through a process that involves boiling water. The company is using a process called cavitation which involves heating water to high temperatures so it sounds like a hot fusion process. Yet this seems to involve some of the same phenomena involved in low energy nuclear reaction so it could be LENR.

Rossi, Leonardo Corp - E-Cat
E-cat Rossi important improvements for cold fusion
(Original in Italian)
- Italian Work continues on the development of E-Cat Andrea Rossi explained that he had achieved significant progress in the development of the catalyst, and disproves the theory of conspiracy against his E-Cat.
Among the competitors... Mitch Schwartz, Brillouin, Defkalion. (WebmasterPoint;

Rossi
Talks of Breakthrough: Stability at 'Very High' Temperatures
- Two recent posts by Andrea Rossi on the Journal of Nuclear
Physics speak of a considerable breakthrough that he seems very
excited about. We know that Rossi has been in search of high
temperature steam in order to create efficient electricity. He has
said for a while now that instability in his reactor has... (E-CatWorld;

Waiting
for October Again - October 2011 was a key month in
the E-Cat Story when Andrea Rossi conducted demonstrations of
his E-Cat technology to some interested parties in Bologna, Italy.
We know that not everyone was bowled over by these demos, and many
people are watching and waiting for more definitive evidence of the
E-Cat's validity. Now... "In October we will make a
convention of all our Licensees and their list will be put in our
website." (E-CatWorld; May 7, 2012) (And nextme.itandgreenstyle.it)
Applications
Large
and Small E-Cats : What Would be Your Choice? - For
the purpose if this post, let's take a leap of faith and
assume for the moment that Andrea Rossi has what he says, and
that sometime in the near future both large (industrial) and
small (domestic) E-Cats will be on the market in the not too
distant future. Rossi is now seems to... (E-CatWorld; May

Grids And E-Cat. An Overview. - The United States
government is trying to develop independence from the
traditional power grid. According to the State of the Union

Satellite
Communications And E-Cat - You may not think of
satellites when you consider LENR technology, but there may be a
connection. The connection is electricity. Everything that
involves battery operated devices and communication also means
electrical properties (ECatReport; May 10, 2012)
General Cold Fusion
Science
LENR and Alchemy
- Alchemy is a form of chemistry and speculative philosophy
practiced in the Middle Ages and the Renaissance and concerned
principally with discovering methods for transmuting baser metals
into gold. The word alchemy calls up the picture of a medieval

Politics
Political Support
for Cold Fusion in an Election Year - Political support
would have been crucial two decades ago in developing the basic
science of cold fusion energy by procuring funding for a coordinated
plan of research. In Peaking of World Oil Production: Impact,
Mitigation, & Risk Management, Robert Hirsch ( ) (ColdFusionNow;

Major US Senate Candidate has Cold Fusion Experience ties to Sidney Kimmel
- An important US Senate Candidate in Nebraska has worked with a cold fusion research company in the past. The Washington Examiner website reported that Bob Kerrey the Democratic candidate for an open Senate Seat in Nebraska received $800,000 for consulting work he did on behalf of Energetics Technologies an Israeli-US company doing cold fusion research.

continues a year later as fears that the former nuclear power plant,
now radioactive-pile, Fukushima-Daichi could produce additional

hemisphere altering civilization as we know it. Oregon ( ) (ColdFusionNow;

Commentary
Cold Fusion is not necessarily a Threat to Oil
- Even though it is highly probable that cold fusion or low energy nuclear reaction will take over as our civilization's primary power source at some point, it is doubtful that LENR will drive the oil industry out of business anytime soon.

LENR's future as seen by the digital camera
- We periodically get glimpses of the technological offerings of
Rossi, Defkalion, and Brillouin. Please understand that
20 years down the road this technology will have advanced like
digital cameras have over the last 20 years. (NickelPower;

Turin Conference, May 4, 2012
Hagelstein:
Public Invited to See Continuing Cold Fusion Demonstration at MIT
- At the recent "Atom Unexplored" conference in Torino Italy,
Dr. Peter Hagelstein of MIT gave a presentation about some of his
work in the field of low energy nuclear reaction research,
concentrating on the work of his colleague Dr. Mitchell Swartz.

MIT Physicist Nixes Cold Fusion Funding
(conference report) - Of all the interesting tidbits to come out of The Atom Unexplored conference in Turin, Italy in May 4, perhaps the account by Dr. Peter Hagelstein of MIT on how a prominent physicist actively worked to cut cold fusion funding was the most eye-opening.

LENR Meets HENR in Turin
- A unique conference will begin tomorrow in Turin, Italy, entitled the
"The Atom Unexplored." This conference will be unique because it will explore both low energy nuclear reactions and high energy nuclear reactions, with the former being covered in the morning session and the latter being covered in the afternoon session.

NOTE: NOTE: We have replaced the previous Echo comment service with
Disqus. The old Echo database of comments has now been imported into Disqus. The old comments are loaded in date received order. This will mean that if say, someone posted a reply a week after a comment was posted, then it will appear before the original post does (in other words jumbling up will occur in the normal Parent/Child pattern of replies) and comments will not follow a logical order. However, comments you have made/make in Disqus since the changeover date will appear in the normal order of appearance.
ADVISORY: With any
technology, you take a high risk to invest significant time or money
unless (1) independent testing has thoroughly corroborated the
technology, (2) the group involved has intellectual rights to the
technology, and (3) the group has the ability to make a success of
the endeavor.
All
truth passes through three stages:
First, it is ridiculed;
Second, it is violently opposed; and
Third, it is accepted as self-evident.
