Top free energy stories of 2010 and beyond

My prediction that 2010 would be known as "the year of crowning", to use a childbirth analogy, has proven true.  Several free energy technologies began popping out, getting ready for market.  Join us as we take a look at some of the most exciting developments.

While in many regards 2010 has been a terrible year, that is not the case when it comes to the exotic free energy world.  By "exotic," I mean non-conventional or maverick free energy -- beyond solar, wind, geothermal, tide, etc.  We're talking overunity electromagnetic systems, gravity motors, magnet motors, water as fuel, noble gas engines and such.

As I predicted a year ago, 2010 indeed turned out to be the "Year of Crowning", to use a childbirth analogy.  We saw several free energy technologies emerge, not necessarily ready for sale in the marketplace, but getting close, such as being in beta testing phase and working on production prototypes.  I predict that several of these will be available for sale in 2011, along with a few we were not able to report on, as well as some we don't even know about yet.

Last year, in my review of 2009, the top 10 list was based on story popularity or traffic.  However, in reviewing 2010, I have decided to make my list more subjective, focusing in on those developments that I personally think are the most significant, but also weighing the popularity factor.

I apologize in advance if I am omitting technologies that should be listed here or given more credence.  And I should also admit that I might be giving more credit than is due to some of these developments.  It is indeed likely that at least one of these will turn out to be bogus technology.  Such is the nature of probing the realm extreme breakthroughs, as most of you have surely observed by now.


Fast Freddy's Dodge Pickup Running on Water

The story that garnered probably the most interest this past year emerged in August when Frederick Wells (Freddy) claimed to have driven his friend, Dave's Dodge 2004 RAM 1600 pickup truck around town and then on a 3,000 mile trip on nothing but water via their on-board hydroxy gas generator that uses the truck's battery power to electrolyze water.  The hydroxy gas was pressurized to around 60 psi then injected into the fuel rail, with the gasoline line disconnected. The HHOi (apparently a linear, ionized form of the water molecule that is gaseous) appears to be where the magic appears, somehow harnessing environmental energy (ZPE?) in its formation in the tradition of Stanley Meyers.

Then just prior to a demonstration that was supposed to take place on August 21, the cell malfunctioned and was damaged. (Ref.) 

Given Freddy's stated intent to share the plans, we launched an open source project, registering http://FreddysCell.com, which forwards to our PESWiki feature page, and we created a forum at Yahoo!Groups for those wanting to be directly involved in the project.  Getting a clear set of plans to replicate the effect proved to be a challenging task, made difficult in that there were so many iterations involved in Freddy getting to that point, so conveying just which design elements were relevant and not getting confused between versions, has not been easy. On November 30, we finally posted our best shot at the plans; but to date, no one else has been able to replicate the effect using those plans.

We had a close call near the end of September, when a researcher in Utah thought he had been able to idle his Jeep using the effect, but it turned out that his assistants had not properly disconnected the fuel line.  However, the dialogue that ensued in conjunction with that story solicited some incredible insight into some of the key points in what may be required to replicate this effect.  And on November 11, "Mr2tuff" claimed to have gotten his system (not via the plans) running on 100% HHOi.

Also on November 30, we reported that Freddy and some associates had traveled to Kentucky to Square1 Energy's facilities, to tap their expertise, controller technology, and shop capabilities, to put the finishing touches on a new version of Freddy's water fuel cell, with the hope of tweaking it to power his Dodge truck; having achieved brief idling thus far.

That was pretty much that last we heard until yesterday, January 4 -- perhaps as a taste of what we might expect in 2011 -- when Freddy posted another video of him driving down the road, supposedly running on HHOi only, "with more power than I need," he says.  Here is the video he uploaded from his Android phone.

In other hydroxy news, besides the myriad of companies springing up selling fuel efficiency retrofit kits, another lead story was of German researchers, Oliver and Valentin who showed a self-running hydroxy system in operation.  They're "Merry Christmas 2010" video showed them rolling a cart with their system down a hall, into an elevator, down 4 floors, and out into a courtyard. Not only did it keep itself running, but it generated 400 Watts extra to power a light.


Bedini and TeslaTech Conferences

2010 saw several great free energy events, with the highlights being the TeslaTech conference in Albuquerque, NM, USA; and the Bedini conference in Idaho, USA.  The the four-day TeslaTech (ExtraOrdinary Technology) conference featured John Searl and his antigravity technology, Marko Rodin and his toroid coils, health technologies, hydrogen/hydroxy, vortex, and more. The enthusiastic chatter about the Bedini Renaissance Conference described a monumental event with amazing demonstrations of technologies and networking of people who previously have only known each other by usernames. What came to be called the "Bedini Ferris Wheel" was unveiled, drawing milliamps while producing tremendous torque and electricity.

The 3-coil kit that was given to the Bedini Conference attendees, with suggestions by Peter Lindemann about how to get it to run in overunity mode, seems to be a bit more challenging than what was first thought.  Last week I asked them if anyone, or how many people had been able to achieved that milestone; and the defensive response I got indicated that no one has yet been able to do it.  Part of that may be due to the holiday distractions, and part of it was due to not everyone having all the parts required yet, including Peter.

Unfortunately, these two heavy-hitter conferences (TeslaTech and Bedini) are going to be held the same weekend in 2011.  I'm torn because I really want to attend both.  Rick Friedrich should get the "tunnel vision" award for not realizing that the TeslaTech had been scheduled for that weekend, long before he had scheduled the November 2010 Bedini conference.  Hopefully this conflict will not create too much of a financial burden on either series, as people are cutting back due to the world economic meltdown, and both conferences require a certain number of attendees in order to break even.  May the rise of free energy interest be strong enough to overcome what otherwise could sink both functions.  So I urge you all to do what you can to attend one of these two events and encourage your associates to do the same.  I may have to do a coin toss to decide which I will attend, they both have such excellent promise.

Another great event coming, this one in March 2011, will be Tom Valone's Fourth International Conference on Future Energy in Washington, D.C.  Also, coming this Summer, will be the first Tesla exhibit in Las Vegas.  We'll be doing feature pages about both of these in the coming days.

AOGFG Gravity Motor Going into Production?

I have a hard time imagining how a gravity motor could work.  It seems to me like everything will balance to zero, minus any frictional losses.  Yet every once in a while, a gravity motor claim comes along that seems like it could have merit.  Historically, the most famous claim to a functional gravity motor came from Johann Bessler or "Orffyreus".

In September, I became aware of and began reporting on the Alpha Omega Galaxy Freefall Generator (AOGFG) invented by Bobby Amarasingam in Britain.  Bobby has been contacting me regularly about his technology and the steps being taken to roll out this technology into the marketplace.

A 12 kilowatt output version was allegedly built and tested and is forming the basis for a Dutch group that is engineering for production, with production prototype expected in March, and commercial product being available by August.  For security reasons, that one is not available for viewing.  Some earlier prototypes are available, which supposedly show a 1/4 reduction in energy required to keep the system in rotation, according to classical calculations. 

The size, cost, and complexity of the AOGFG energy generator appear minimal; making it one of the most amazing breakthroughs that I know of -- if it is indeed as described. A 6-12 kilowatt power generator using gravity as the source will supposedly cost around $5,000 or less and be around 1.5 cubic meters in size.  Companies are already lining up to license the technology, with several already said to be under contract, apparently being sufficiently convinced it is real.  He's asked me to help him find the right partners for a license for the Americas, the qualifications being: humanitarian, non-greedy, strong business ability and experience, courage to decline buy-out offers from vested interests that might want to shelve the technology.

Bobby expects a self-sustaining demonstration version to be completed within a couple of weeks.  This one would use the excess mechanical energy to keep the main rotor turning.

Something like this would go a long way toward boosting the world's alternative economy by creating jobs and reducing energy costs, enabling independence from the grid, greening the planet, and empowering people.  Bobby wishes to use most of the proceeds for humanitarian purposes, including bringing distributed power to the impoverished peoples of the world.

I hoped to talk him into open sourcing, but his attorneys said that it would violate the contracts that are in place with the existing licensees.  They might consider opening it up to open source in August 2012.

In October I was approached by an inventor, Glen Davis, who said he would open source his gravity motor design.  He said he used cardboard, dowels, and tin foil, for less than $10 to build his alleged working prototype - "super simple".  But when a friend came to see it, and learned he planned to ship it to me to open source, the friend went berserk, telling him he was crazy, and that he should get a patent on it first.

PlasmERG Noble Gas Engine Emerging

Plasma Energy Controls (PlasmERG)'s plasma expansion motor didn't hit our news much in 2010, but they remain one of the most promising free energy technologies of which I am aware. The device turns a noble gas into a plasma state, then back, getting work out of it each time, within a combustion chamber, while expending maybe an atom of the inexpensive, inert gas each time.

PlasmERG retains a healthy lead among the few groups that are chasing the dream of bringing to market the noble gas technology that was first launched by Joseph Papp nearly half a century ago.  As is typical, things have taken much longer than expected to get this far, but they continue to persevere and make progress toward market readiness.

Their primary impediment is getting adequate financing of the right kind.  They are are currently working toward their main electronics production, office, pilot production and teaching facility, so they can teach licensees and produce engines.


ERR Fluxgenerator Poised for 2011

The ERR Fluxgenerator, by Noah's Ark Research Foundation, is a device that allegedly generates electricity by tying into the Earth's frequencies, using a solid state arrangement in a panel made from "left-handed material" -- Aluminum and Bismuth interwoven with coils.  It is a solid state free energy generator technology ideal for distributed, stationary power applications.

All year, I've been featuring the ERR Fluxgenerator near the top of the topical links at PESWiki.com, though we didn't have any new stories about them -- until December, when we posted two.  One was about the 20,000 products they had ready to go to market in Japan in 2002, with solid state output of 300 and 900 Watts, but which the Japanese government confiscated.  The other was a report on where they are at now, and that they expect 2011 to be a year of redemption.  They are now working on generators in the range of 100 to 200 kilowatts.  That was our last story of 2010, posted December 31.

I have found their email forum to be one of the most interesting, covering quite a few disciplines.


MYT Engine

Inventor, Raphial Morgado, stands between a conventional engine and his engine that he says has comparable power output.

We had hoped 2010 would be a big year for Raphial Morgodo's MYT Engine, but those expectations will need to be postponed a year, making 2011 the big year for them.  He was going to demonstrate his new 6-inch motor to the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) in Oregon in May, but that was canceled.  His new motor is not yet done yet, but it is close.

The MYT engine features 40 times higher power to weight ratio, low parts count, low maintenance, high mechanical efficiency, and low pollution. It can also function as a pump/compressor also exceeds existing pumps/compressors in providing massive pressure, volume, and flow; all in one unit.  In March, we reported that this latter attribute attracted the attention of a geothermal company, The Tesla Corporation, LLC.

In April we reported that the 6-inch version can be built inexpensively by machining, without the cost of casting, for its first beta testing units.  Some heavy hitters have come along, showing strong interest in testing these first MYT-6 engines.  I'm not at liberty to disclose those names, but they are very impressive.


Various Electromagnetic Overunity Developments

The Bedini group is just one of many who are pursuing ways of getting free energy from electromagnetic manipulation in the spirit of Nikola Tesla.

One of the biggest stories at the beginning of the year was the very public demonstration that Steorn was putting forth of alleged overunity in Dublin Ireland.  Though it was generally a let-down compared to the expectation, I wouldn't consider it a complete failure.  It just didn't rise to the level of being an unequivocal demonstration of more energy being produced than was being consumed.  They also set forth a solid state version of the technology alleging 200% efficiency, along with kits for developers and experimenters.

One story I wasn't able to get to the bottom of was the claim out of the Ukrain that the AVIG electromagnetic overunity technology was available for purchase in sizes of 1, 5, and 100 kilowatt net output.  It was quite clear that they weren't so ready for sale, and one account from a Russian forum said it was a bloated, shoddy kit not worth the money.

By far, the most grandios claim of the year -- actually that I've ever encountered -- came from Atilla Alperen, who said his electromagnetic overunity generators are available for power purchase agreements through government-to-government arrangements cleared by the Turkish Energy Ministry, with pilot devices installed in several countries.  He said that they had 85 gigawatts of contracts in place.  I wrote twice to the Turkish Ministry to get verification or rebuttal, but didn't get any response.  Atilla stopped contacting me, mad that I had tried to verify what he had told me.

In the United States, TWM Technology seems to be making significant progress, though they are still talking out of both sides of their mouths.  On the one hand, they don't want to turn off people in the mainstream by talking about "overunity."  On the other hand, they claim to have achieved self-looping capability with energy left over for practical use.  Nearly every time I do a story about them, I get contacted by someone trying to downplay what the other person said.  The biggest story about them came on September 11, when we reported that they had received a US Patent.

In June, we heard briefly about a new company, PowerStream, which claimed to have a self-generating power system called the Magnetron, which they say is "first of its kind to market", advertising output capabilities between 5KW and 2 MW. They say the load-following device could be the primary and sole source of energy for a myriad of applications, from home to business to transportation power.  Then just as suddenly, they disappeared, didn't return calls.

Another story that captured the imagination and interest of the free energy community starting in early November was the V-gate magnet motor with manual gate bypass.  Even though "Roobert33" pulled his video and said it was intended as a joke, many disregarded his dismissal and still held out hope that this could indeed be a plausible design, and several people, including one of the premier replicators, CLaNZeR set out to build one.

Meanwhile, we discovered that "Roobert33" is Robert Calloway, and he told Steve Marshall that this little device has been running continuously all this time, powering a small light.  CLaNZeR gave us a scare when he pulled his website, and made his videos private.  We thought someone had gotten to him; but it turned out he was just trying to get away from his barrage of emails during the holidays.  He's nearly done with his replication, which isn't one of his better pieces of work.

I just got off the phone with Steve who is also replicating Robert's design, and happened to be on his way to pick up the rotor he had built.  He is confident it will work, and he is all for open sourcing the design to quickly disseminate and improve the technology for the benefit of humankind.


John Hutchison and Nancy Lazaryan Clearing Gulf

Of course one of the biggest stories of the year was the Gulf oil disaster, which had the planet on the edge of its seat for three months.  Now that it has been "plugged," they are still spraying Corexit, which is highly toxic to humans, fish, and animals.

Meanwhile, starting in October, as part of a solution, the famous anti-gravity researcher and a favorite within free energy community, John Hutchison, and his associate, Nancy Lazaryan, came up with a device that emits a combination of audio and radio frequencies that have the effect of clearing waters polluted by oil and dispersant in less than 24 hours, bringing the native life back.  Since then, they have tirelessly been laboring to travel from beach to beach in order to deploy their equipment and clear as much as they can. Their efforts to get the attention and assistance of BP or the U.S. Coast Guard have been essentially ignored, being brushed off.  For a little while, I had hope that one guy at BP was listening, but he turned out to be a disappointment, just patronizing, with no intent of giving their claims a fair look.  All John and Nancy were requesting was a barge on which they could put their equipment and work from the water, without having to spend so much time finding beach properties friendly to their work.  Unfortunately, the level of scientific rigor in testing and government certifications would preclude either of those entities from showing any kind of support until those lengthy and expensive steps have been taken.

Hall of Shame

Along with the great breakthroughs were some significant developments in closing shop on some shysters.  Mike Brady, my ol' buddy from Perendev, ended up in jail for embezzling.  After declaring bankruptcy in Germany, Mike Brady rented a house at Lake Zurich in Switzerland and leased a fleet of Maserati and several Range Rovers. He was arrested on March 29 and extradited to Germany where 61 customers wanted their money back ($1 million Euros+) for non-delivered 100 and 300-kw electromagnetic motors. It was also discovered that his idea was pirated from a Brazilian patent, which was awarded in 1990 because a working design was presented using expensive ceramic magnets which degaussed quite rapidly.  After this development and discovery, I posted everything I have on the Perendev design, seeing no more reason to honor the NDA I had signed in 2002.

Another pirating scammer I became aware of in 2002 also went down in 2010.  Tilley made a splash in 2002 with the claim he could run a DeLorean he had converted to electric, powered by his device that could keep the car running indefinitely.  After taking a lot of people's money, last January, a Nashville jury found Carl Tilley and his wife guilty on several counts and levied both compensatory and punitive damages against them jointly, individually and the two companies. Hopefully Bob Potchen, who is still actively circulating and wreaking havoc in the hydroxy community, won't take so long to be properly prosecuted.

Tilley and Brady also threatened me with lawsuits for my expository coverage of them before they were brought to justice; and I didn't back down with them either.  I have plenty of evidence and witnesses and supporters who will stand with me on this.

Key grievances against Bob Potchen include:

1. Key suspect in implanting two VeriChips in Bob Boyce's shoulder, which caused malignant tumors that nearly killed Boyce. At a minimum, this is electronic harassment. But it could also go to "attempted homicide". Potchen's response has been to deny that he did any such thing, but he has never offered to help find out who is responsible for doing this while Boyce was at Potchen's facility. 
2. He is selling a demonstrably lemon HHO product, which is giving the HHO industry a bad name. All his modifications from Boyce' design have moved away from efficiency improvement toward actually decreasing efficiency. 
3. He claims to have nothing but satisfied customers, when in fact most of his customers have complained, and have received no recovery for their losses. 
4. He has repeatedly tried to steal and claim as his own, intellectual property that originated with Boyce. 
5. He has repeatedly posted as Bob Boyce, impersonating Boyce, to the detriment of Boyce's reputation. 
6. He has bought up hundreds of domain names including variations of the name Bob Boyce, forwarding them to his own site. e.g. http://BobBoyce.net 
7. He is stirring up contention in the HHO community, wittingly or unwittingly fitting the profile of "divide and conquer".

The Magniwork scam is still going, though at least now I don't see newcomers trying to post ads through Google AdSense.  Clickbank has ignored all notices about this company having a bogus product based on pirate information.

Another thing I might mention regarding PESWiki is that for more than a year now, I have been using a Template feature for posting news bullets.  What is nice about this is that you define the bullet once, then if you need to update it or correct it, you update that one template page and it then updates anywhere the template is found.  Before, we'd have to go to each of the pages where the bullet was found and update it one page at a time.

Interview on Red Ice Radio

Interview on the SmartScarecrow Show

On January 13, 2011, Gary Hendershot hosted me on his weekly SmartScarecrow show via webcast at UStream, which is viewed typically by researchers in the hydroxy and electromagnetic overunity specialties, among other areas of interest in the exotic free energy world.  I joined him after the news segment, about 13:20 minutes in, after he showed a couple of EBN electrolysis (hydroxy) device that shows up in the trailer for the upcoming The Green Hornet major motion picture.  There were some sound problems at the beginning, so the presentation actually gets under way at 19:00.
