Johannesburg Trip Report
Having honored the NDA long after the term expired, given new
unsettling developments I now reveal blueprints, photos, and other insider
information in hopes that it might help the many people out there trying to
replicate Michael Brady's all-magnet motor. -- Sterling
I found the following report in my files, which gives an interesting synopsis
of both the technology and the man.

I started to compose a report in my head at 3:30 this morning, got up to write
it. [...] My report is going to include not only technological and
contract items, but the personality we are working with.
I expect we will get an EXTREMELY negative report from *** [who] was furious
that we didn't have a working unit to see (though [remaining] fairly cordial
[...]). ...left thinking it was a sham for the most part and Mike Brady a
habitual liar.
To quickly sum up the trip I would say that I am extremely frustrated, yet
hopeful. The frustration was the I thought we were going over being
covered on 4 sides: the unit at CSIR, the unit at his house, the video footage
of the unit, the units being built, one of which we could take home. We
were disappointed on all four fronts. [...]
Now that I have reported the frustrating side, let me tell you why I am still
hopeful, why I don't think he is a sham, nor a habitual liar.
THE PERSON
Mike Brady loves to talk about himself, what he has done and how extremely
talented he is in many, many areas. He is loud, obnoxious, overbearing,
moody, prejudiced towards any race but white, not very respectful towards women,
especially his wife, and is always trying to put on that he has more money than
he actually does. Did I mention extremely prideful and self
centered? Yet, he is warm, funny, entertaining, tender towards children
and animals, open thinker, and generous in many ways. He is extremely
right brained and I suspect would be labeled ADD (as most inventors would, by
the way). The only thing organized in his life is his tool box. He
hates to read because of a cataract on the back of his eye (harder to fix) and
it just bores him basically. If you are familiar with The Color Code by
Taylor Hartmann, he is Yellow with a heavy overlay of Red. On the Zodiac
he is Cancer. He just turned fifty-three last July 5th. His wife is
39, beautiful German lady with two kids and extremely high maintenance.
They have a crisis management relationship and are always at odds. They
have a maid they pay $100USD plus room and board (actually good wages for a maid
in S.A.). They have a Chinese exchange student, a women about 26 who is
learning to sing opera and speak English.
He lives in an "old money" neighborhood, two blocks from Nelson
Mandela, across the street from a Jewish Synagogue in a home about 30 years old
with swimming pool, tennis court, maids quarters, about 6,000 sq ft. They
are renting, and the house is sparsely furnished. He drives a 92
Mercedes. He spends money quite lavishly and admits he is always in feat
or famine and that currently he is in a down cycle. He comes from a
wealthy family--heavily abusive father and doting mother.
He networks computers for a living and claims eh can make computers so
integrated that they run beautifully. He claims that he is owed about
$38,000USD, much of it from the police, and he cannot collect from them.
He has bout 12 computers networked in his office with a server and hundreds of
parts, programs, cd's etc strewn everywhere. He is a good hacker and has
stolen the software to do blueprints and cad drawings. [...]
Mike was in S.A. secret service for 17 years and retired from that in 1991, the
same year his son died. Many of the jobs or things he has done were
undercover for the secret service. He still carries a badge and uses it to
get through road blocks and so forth. He freely admits if they checked it
out they would find it not active anymore. He always caries a Colt 45
stuck in his pants in open view. his view is that there is a conspiracy in
the world for control, but that the best way to keep things hidden is out in the
open. In talking to Mike he is very aware of the power struggle in the
world, he just doesn't worry about it. [...]

CORROBORATION
We talked to the woman he lived with for 7 years in the 90's (before ...
their assets into it, that she was his former partner... ...course of the week
and again in casual conversations corroborated much of what Mike has said about
...
Importantly, a friend Rob spoke of how great the Video he was working on
[was]. Rob is a regular artist as well as ....
As far as us not getting into CSIR it boiled down to being a money
problem. He owes them about $13,000, and they would not let him bring
anyone to see it until it was paid. He tried all week to raise the money
so we could get in....
The lawyer [Hans Bodenhorst] also corroborated many things, mostly how much
money ... He speaks English very well...
At the point when *** left, I was doubting there WAS a unit at CSIR, but hearing
Brady talk to his lawyer about it, what terms that contract were and so forth,
it convinced me there really is a unit there. He also described it [the
motor] in detail and how it was set up and what it looked like and so
forth. I am sorry we didn't ask his manufacturer Quentin what it was made
of and when they had made it, as an additional corroboration. ...
The manufacturer Quentin is top notch. He ran a very good business ...
The machine at his house is the original one. We saw the aluminum stators
and rotors sitting on the floor as well ...
When *** and I were working on timing it [the magnet placement in the motor] we
decided to try every ....
