As Wall Street, the commodities traders and investors realize the extent of the food crisis we're facing, you can expect food prices to skyrocket. Even the food already on the shelves will go up in price as retailers try to cover their losses and panicked consumers flock to the stores to stock
up.
They know that people will be forced to eat less as prices go through the roof.
And yet, in Latin America and Asia the population is booming, so the food supply is under serious long-term pressure even without the natural disasters and government interference. Meanwhile, western governments continue head-long into their global warming alternative fuel scheme which will tap our dwindling food supply further. If governments around the world were not conspiring to deprive the public of the information, the markets would have the information to react and begin to forecast prices, allowing the consuming public to respond and begin to prepare, just as our ancestors did in times of crisis.
