How does Mylow get his all-magnet motor to work?
Despite having posted a video showing his motor running using
readily-available magnets, along with photos and caliper measurements of the
spacing, no one yet has been able to replicate his work four days later.
New information provided may change that soon?

While we are astonished at Mylow's claim to have gotten several different
versions of an all-magnet motor running since he began posting videos
on March 17 showing acceleration followed by the motor reaching equilibrium,
what is perhaps even more perplexing is why no one yet has been able to
replicate his work, despite his having divulged so much information through his instructional
video series, and through a few emails and phone conversations with me,
which I've been making available at http://MylowPlans.com
Following the Rabbit Down the Hole
Of course the skeptics say that somehow there is a hoax going on here, because,
after all, any good scientists knows that magnets cannot provide a primary
energy source of themselves. That would be like trying to lift yourself
with your own shoestrings. One of the leading skeptics, TinselKoala,
posted a video today
showing how Mylow could fake the rotation he's showing.
But for those of us who believe the there may be something about magnetism not
previously understood that could make an all-magnet
motor possible, we have been hanging in there, hoping that Mylow has indeed
cracked the code, and hoping that we could then help unravel this code for the
rest of humanity via an open source
project, to remove our dependence on polluting fuel sources.
Previously, we thought that the reason replication was evading us was that the
magnets Mylow had been using were no longer available, and the close
approximations we were trying were not close enough. So we sent him those
same close approximation magnets, and on Tuesday, he said he got his motor
running with just six rotor magnets that we had sent him, compared to the two
sets of eighteen he showed in a previous video -- using his no-longer-available
magnets. In addition to providing a top-view photograph, he even took out
a caliper that someone had sent him and gave us measurements
down a hundredth of a millimeter on each gap between each magnet.
With this wealth of information, I had thought that for sure we would begin
seeing successful replications
emerge within hours. Indeed, a lot of people were working on it, using the
exact same magnets, with the same spacing; yet to our chagrin, no one has yet
been able to get their setup to run. I was expecting we'd see a dozen in
the first 24 hours after posting the announcement that he had done it, along
with the photos of his setup.
Magnets Vary
The sentiment that has been expressed, including in a video from Mylow today, is
that not all magnets have the same magnetic strength, even though they might come from the same batch from the same manufacturer. The cutting of the magnets introduces
differences, for example. Hence, it isn't possible to just copy the spacing of magnets on his rotor.
Unless we have a way to accurately quantify the magnetic strength of each of his
magnets, for now, people are going to need to develop the ability to
"feel" the magnets, as each magnet is added to the rotor. You
can't just lay them down and guess how they will work.
In this video, Mylow is addressing one of the replicators, Energymaker100,
who he says is "very close."

locate it now), John
Bedini commented that Mylow has a gift for balancing things
on the edge of a pin.
Like Balancing Eggs on End
As I've mulled that around, another analogy has come to mind that may have
relevance in more than one way.
Several years ago, my Dad, David
W. Allan, who retired a few years back from NIST in Boulder where he was an
atomic clock physicist, put forth a new Unified Field Theory, which includes
what he calls "diallel lines" that emanate radially from
objects. This is why atomic blasts, for example, shoot vertically up, and
not in all directions, as they follow the Earth's diallel lines upward.
One of the experiments he did to give evidence for and to demonstrate the
theory, involved balancing
eggs on end.
For most people, this is very difficult, requiring more patience than most
people have. He got quite good at it. Part of his theory was that
the reason these eggs stand on end is because they tap into the Earth's diallel
line structure and establish resonance therewith. It doesn't work with
hard boiled eggs. He couldn't get them to stand on top of the grand piano,
where the wires apparently interfere with the diallel lines. The most
interesting effect was a servo effect he notices. One day the eggs were
standing on end, and a breeze blew into the kitchen through the screen
door. The eggs actually compensated and stayed upright.
In calling him today to ask if I could use this account and photos for this
story, he explained that it is possible that one possible explanation for
Mylow's motor function could also have to do with diallel lines. He sent
me the following explanation:
I am confident that the Mylow Howard Johnson Motor or any motor that works over unity couples into the diallel magnetic field structure of the earth. To date, we have conducted seven UFT experiments showing the existence of these diallel lines, the modification of the gravity field, that they have the predicted quantum states, and others which we have mostly shared on our
web site. The net of this in relation to the Mylow Motor is that the magnets cannot be equal nor equally spaced for it to work. For the energy to be coupled in and a pumping action to follow that produces work, there must be different magnetic field gradients during a cycle.
Cycle of Action in Mylow's Motor
Speaking of cycles, a skeptic, toukoqouko, posted
some fascinating data showing the periodic acceleration and deceleration during
each rotation of Mylow's May 13 video
as it gradually accelerated with just six rotor magnets. They were
posting this as "evidence" that there were other forces (cheater
mechanism) involved in accelerating the rotor. However, look at how
similar each period is. I could be wrong, but what I see is a harmonic
relationship causing acceleration even when the magnets are not directly under
the stator magnet.

If we are dealing with new science here, we need to be open to the data and
what it tells us, and be careful to not jump to wrong conclusions. I was
talking to Mylow about this and he said that in a fully populated, these
harmonic lines would probably diminish into more of a straight line.
Mylow as a Child
It's hard not to feel out of our league here in comparison to Mylow. It's
like listening to Beethoven then sitting down and trying to repeat what he
plays. It takes lots of technique learning and some good sheet music to
sit down and play one of his songs right. I'm trying to produce the sheet
music, so to speak, in the form of the plans
I've been posting. Hopefully we're getting closer.
Mylow's mother recently reminded him of something he used to do when he was
fifteen. He was working for a shop owner for $5 a day (a lot more money
back then). But rather than receive cash, he wanted magnets. He then
would fasten them to various circular things. Once he used Elmer's glue to
affix them around the perimeter of a record player disc that belonged to his
sister, and was trying to see if he could get it to spin. When his mother
caught him doing this, she had a fit because he had ruined the record
player. She threw his magnets away. He dug them back out of the
trash. I think he also did the same thing to his brother's record player,
with the same result. He was even getting some rotation.
Another gig he pulled was gluing magnets around the outside of a hoola
hoop. The catch is that he cannibalized the pinball machine to get the
metal ball out of it so he could see what happened when he rolled the ball
around the middle of the hoop. When his dad caught him, he was about to
smack him, but then he stopped, and said in Spanish, "Maybe there may come
a time when this could benefit the world," but he still gave him a
whopping.

Another thing I didn't realize is that the image he drew of what turned out
to be one of the last designs Howard Johnson came up with near the end of his
life, which came to Mylow in a dream while a teen, was actually before Mylow had
ever heard of Howard Johnson and his magnet motor.
His teacher and mother were so concerned about his strange drawings that they
took him to see a psychologist at a local children's hospital. They
thought maybe he was getting into some gangs, which were prevalent at the time,
and that these drawings were some kind of gang insignia. Mylow assured
them that they were not. They were just images that came to him in
dreams. He didn't know what they were for -- yet. This was around
eighth grade.
Is Mylow Shiloh?
One thing that has become clear to me as I've been covering this Mylow saga
and the legend of Howard Johnson, is that Howard was very passionate about a
prophecy to the effect that after he passed on, a person would come along who
would be a very simple person who would carry on his work. He called him
"Shiloh" and said "He will have a simple mind like a
child." He would visit his gravesite, and that would be one way he
would be identified. He instructed his family that this person was the one
to whom his hitherto undisclosed drawings and effects should be passed on to.
Mylow explains that he chose the pseudonym "Mylow" because that was
his dog's name -- one of his favorites. I can say that from my vantage
point of hearing about the prophecy and observing Mylow, that he is a spot-on
match to the prophecy.
Some years ago, Tom Bearden tried to convince HJ that John
Bedini was that person. Bedini is an extremely gifted scientist, and
hardly fits the "mind of a child" description. Mylow, on the
other hand, fits that description to a tee.
Two days ago, in honor of Mylow, John posted a video showing that linear motor
and the original magnet motor.
This is the first time these things have been shown for many years. In
some ways, it's almost like seeing a carcass dragged out.
Mylow told me he thinks he could get it working going in just a few minutes, and
that when circularized, it could become the basis of the 5 kW output device he
would like to pursue next.
So, How does Mylow Position His Magnets
I realize that this story is on the long side, but I've gotten a bit behind in
reporting on all these things that have been happening at a whirlwind pace.
This evening, Mylow phoned me and shared with me "the secret" of how
he positions his magnets on the rotors to get his motors to work. With this
information disclosed, he expects that a bunch of the people working on
replications should be able to be successful in their replications in a very short period of time.
As mentioned above, he said, no two magnets are the same. Each magnet needs to be individually treated.
It isn't really plausible to post a template and follow it.
First, he glues one bar magnet down. He runs it under the stator to get its feel (I didn't quite understand what is accomplished in this step).
Then he takes the second magnet. He holds it in place next to the first one with his thumb. He then runs them under the stator to feel how much it cogs (cog = resistance). He then moves the magnet one direction just a little bit, then he runs it by the stator again to see if the cog increases or decreases. He keeps doing this until he finds that place where the cog goes away.
Mylow thinks getting some kind of non-magnetic clamp would help in this process.
Once he finds that no-cog spot, he then scribes a line with a pencil on the disc to mark the place the magnet goes, and then glues the magnet in place. It is very important that you be able to glue the magnet right at that position, so be sure your markings are such that you will be able to put the magnet back in position.
As a double check, when the positioning is right, you should get that pendulum effect he shows in one of his tutorial videos. And the pendulum effect (rocking back and forth when pushes, like a spring) should take place directly under the stator, not to one side or the other.
He then repeats these steps with the next magnet; then the next.
As no two magnets are the same, no two spacings will be the same.
By the time he gets to the 5th magnet, he says he starts noticing a strange effect. The repulsive effect of the first magnet as the magnets go toward the stator begins to dissipate. The repulsion effect becomes a pull as the 2nd and 3rd magnets pass under the stator.
By the time you add the 6th magnet, if your bearing friction is low enough, you may get the SMOT device effect that he showed on May 13.
He said that by the time he got to the 7th, 8th and 9th magnet, that there was a bu-bump bounciness that began to come into the rotation. By the time he had the 12th magnet down, the bounciness was very pronounced. A cog had come into the middle of the set of magnets.
He then glued in the 13th magnet and then removed the middle magnet, so there were now two sets of six magnets, and the rotation became smooth.
(I presume that during all this time, from the 6th magnet on, he had acceleration if he let it go. He did tell me the other day that he did get acceleration with the 9-magnet configuration he showed in the caliper video.)
He cautions people that when they see this thing working, "It will change you." Make sure you stay humble and dedicated to the benefit of humanity.
Open Mind and Faith
The primary reason Mylow has resisted having someone in to validate this thing
is that this seems to him to feel like a denial of the open-mindedness and faith
that is required to get this thing to work. Gifts like what Mylow appears
to have, do not come from overworked scientific pursuit. They are nurtured
by a certain state of mind and heart. Mylow is a very sincere person of
pure heart, and skepticism hits him like a dagger. He's afraid that if he
subjected his stuff to some kind of scientific circus that the gift he possesses
could be taken away. He wants to preserve the "safe" feeling he
has in his home, where his creativity can thrive.
He Got the "Cupcake" Running Last Night
Back in the days when he was being hounded by the MIB element, and he was
running very scared, he talked in "code" about his devices. He
called his motors "cake", and talked about the right
"ingredients." In some correspondence, he referred to his
"cupcake" as a small rotor he wanted to try that he extracted from a
hard drive or CD player. He wondered if it would work because the disc is
not made out of aluminum, and he thinks the eddy currents in the aluminum are an
important part of getting the motor to work, assisting the magnetic switching
that appears to be crucial.
On April 28, he posted a video showing this spindle that he got from Science and
Surplus.
He used the alnico stator magnet that was nearly depleted from his very first
working Stonehenge model. It seems that though these magnets demagnetize,
that like batteries, when left to sit for a while, they regain some of their
magnetism. There was enough magnetism left in that magnet to get this
thing to run for about four minutes before it stopped.
For the rotor magnets, he used some small bar magnets I had sent him that are
1/4 x 1/4 x 3/4-inches. And instead of laying them flat, he set them
upright. He had N facing outward, and he positioned the stator magnet on
the outside, rather than inside, facing the magnets. It only took four of
them to run. He said that in the
first two minutes, it made about 40 revolutions. This is about the eights
iteration that he's gotten to run, that I can think of, that he's reported to
me. "For some reason, the Stonehenge arrangement depletes the
magnets." He said he's not detected any loss in magnetic strength in
the circular track arrangements.
Ironically, he and I had quite the knock-down, drag-out conversation last
night. He had gone to bed, but then around 3:00 am, he had some ideas, and
he got up, and spent about three hours working on the "cupcake", to
get it to run.
He's not wanting to post more videos for now of working units because he's tired
of the skeptics tearing them down. "They'll never be
satisfied." So he wants to just focus on addressing those who are
trying to replicate this.
Needs to Address His Health
Around six times in our conversation, Mylow mentioned that he's been losing
weight (20 pounds), hasn't been getting enough sleep, and that he needs a break
from this stuff. He seems driven to continue. Hopefully he can find
a way to strike the necessary balance to give this stuff the attention it
deserves, while not overdoing it and jeopardizing his health and his
relationship with his wife and family.
Hopefully soon (this is me talking, not Mylow), we will be pulling in enough
revenue from sales of plans, kits, and finished units (e.g. starting with demo
toys and conversation pieces), that we can provide him with full-time salary so
he doesn't need to do his day job driving truck around Chicago, which keeps him
working 7 days a week. This way he can devote his full time to developing
and teaching these new principles of magnetic power as a base-load capable,
portable, clean energy source.
He told me that PMMTester's dream of making toy kits is going to come true very
soon.
He was going to hit the sack after our call ended at around 10:00 pm Central,
but then I saw an email from him and a video response to Andy Graham, whose
replication really impressed him.
Andy Graham's Crusade
Andy Graham has been very excited about this project since learning about it
several weeks ago, phoning me nearly daily to get the latest scoop and report on
his progress. He's been interested in this kind of stuff for years.
Today he wrote to Mylow:
Here's the situation: I live within walking distance from Make Magazine (creators of Makerfaire), corporate headquarters. I already have a contact there waiting to have me bring the
[below] motor (working) to his office.
As soon as this happens, I have a guaranteed prime spot at Makerfaire, in front the national media and the world. I want this to happen, but I just cant seem to keep this thing from cogging.
Being busy with other potential TV gigs having to do with his
music audition, in that
same email, he asked for help from someone else in getting his unit
running. He said he would give the unit to them after airing it on TV.

After I hung up with Mylow this evening, he stayed up and posted the
following video response to Andy, along with an email response.
The question lingers, who will be first to replicate one of Mylow's
designs? I know of a lot of people who are obsessed with getting this
working. It's going to be a very interesting next few days -- as if what
has transpired thus far has not.

'Can't Get it to Work

There is repulsion until the first magnet is precisely under the middle of the
stator array. Then the rotor starts to move on through. I can't tell how the
second or subsequent magnets are acting because the rotor is being pushed out
the other side against the first magnet and the pressure is to fly out the other
side. So all the rotor wants to do is zing out regardless of where I locate the
magnet I'm currently working on.
On the other hand, since while you are holding the magnet tight enough that it
won't push away from the previous magnet you are likewise hanging on to the
rotor with the same pressure, thus the rotor can't move, so what can you learn.
Try it sometime.
On the third hand, I devised a plastic clamp that is dandy to hold the magnet
just tight enough that it won't move yet loose enough that you can move it where
you want it. Two added benefits.
1. You can leave the clamp on and let the rotor move to test the location.
Though this might add too much air drag/not sure
2. Possibly you could have 6 or 8 clamps and test them all as a group before any
of them were glued.
I'm sharing my secrets, I hope Mylow continues to share his.

Hoping to Learn at the Master's Feet

Just a short note to let you know how I'm doing. Tried to learn how to do it. An
instruction booklet is not enough.
You know, all of the replicators are saying that if they could just get their
build closer to Mylow's. I have a build that is an exact duplicate to Mylow's,
in every regard including magnets.
Still I am unable to be successful. It is not like I am a beginner. Having an
exact duplicate rig is not enough.
We just need the masters touch. People need to know this fact.
Many think their troubles will be over as soon as they get the right specs and
materials. Not so. My thoughts on this are that unless some of us have the
chance to learn at the feet of the master, we will never be able to replicate
Mylow's success. Even then, very few will be able to learn. I have tried to
train jeweler as apprentices all my career with limited success. Some could go
through the motions but most had little creativity, it is hard to teach.

Diallel Line Demonstration

This prompted me to ask him to try and see if he could do what
Sterling's father was able to do. Success! We kept rolling, and he demonstrates it uncut. Within 15 minutes, he had helped my wife learn the technique and she too was able to balance another egg nearby.
