pH: A key to health?

Electrolysis Process: Power and Plates
The Enagic water ionizer utilizes electrolysis to produce highly alkaline (9.5+ pH) water that is rich in antioxidant value and micro-clustered, hexagonal molecules. While competitors may claim that their machines have many of the same features, the Enagic SD501, at
230 watts, is unmatched in power. This wattage, along with the large platinum-coated, medical-grade titanium plates used by the Enagic machine, is necessary to produce the structured molecules in sufficient quantities to get results. Competition: Does Quality Matter?
I know that my lower-priced car will get me from Point A to Point B as well as a higher-priced car. But does this principle apply to matters of health? Aside from abundant anecdotal evidence of dramatic health benefits, just how does one assess the quality of a water
ionizer?
The first factor in assessment of water ionizers is workmanship and materials. To qualify as a medical
device in Japan, the Enagic machine must meet very exacting standards of quality. Each Enagic water ionizer is made by a single, skilled
craftsman, as opposed to the cheaper assembly-line production. Many competitors' electrolysis plates are made of metals such as white gold, aluminum, stainless steel, etc., which, over time due to the electrical voltage passing through the metal, causes these inferior metals to leech into the water, potentially harming the body. Use of inferior metals also yields inconsistent water alkalinity and ORP (Oxidation Reduction Potential –
ie., antioxidant measurement) properties.
Competitors often tout the advantages of their “mesh” plate surface; but in fact such a configuration is an inferior conductor of electricity, resulting in faster metal degradation, inconsistent pH and ORP values, and shorter life span. Like the other metals, titanium can, over time, leech into the water, causing a harmful impact to one’s health. However, if the titanium is heavily coated with platinum, as Enagic’s plates are, then this potential health risk is alleviated, since platinum is a valuable trace mineral used by the human body.
Companies can save money at your expense by covering their plates using a spraying technique which results in platinum only a few microns thin. In contrast, Enagic dips their plates in platinum, resulting in a much thicker layer of this precious metal coating. This is essential for correct ionization as well as extending the lifespan of your machine.
Competitors often employ cost-cutting measures such as smaller surface area, inferior mesh design, reduced thickness of platinum coating and/or inferior materials, and lower wattage, thus allowing them to offer dramatically inferior machines at much lower prices. This may be acceptable if it's just a car we're talking about, but would you cut corners if you were having heart surgery? The most obvious factor in the assessment of water ionizers is results. While there are many brands of water ionizers, only Enagic offers machines recognized as
