The New Energy Congress (NEC), which brings you the Top
100 Energy Technologies listing, and which helps screen for worth-while,
cutting-edge, clean energy news and technologies to be featured at the various
PES Network Inc sites (ref, ref,
ref, ref),
is in process of attaining $1.25 million dollars to expand from a volunteer
organization into a due diligence corporation more able to facilitate the
emergence of the most promising new energy technologies.
In this upgrade, the NEC plans to do more matching of funding to fledgling
technologies of merit. They also plan to provide more business incubation
services to help the new companies launch successfully.
They are presently looking to fill several key positions for this roll-out,
including CTO, CFO, Academy Dean, VP of Sales and Marketing, and VP of IT.
All of these will interface with the ongoing volunteer force presently
assembled. In addition to the skills needed for the particular roles,
significant experience in start-ups and interest in exotic alternative energy
will be a primary consideration in making the selection of these individuals.
What sets the NEC apart is its focus on exotic energy technologies that work,
but which get overlooked by mainstream organs because they appear to defy
presently-understood laws of physics. The NEC is of the opinion that some
of the most revolutionary breakthroughs are likely to come from such
outside-the-box approaches -- solutions that could help make our dependence on
fossil fuels obsolete.
The following openings will be full-time, salaried positions.
The Chief Technology Officer's duties will include:
- Be the general expert on all renewable energy topics, especially the
exotic kind.
- Should be a subject-matter expert in at least one major alternative energy technical area (e.g. solar, wind, ZPE, ocean/wave/hydro, etc).
- Manage the Technical Advisory Board.
- Coordinate the assignment of specialty energy topics to specific
volunteers in the NEC.
- Recommend the dispersal of stipends to the most active volunteers to cover
their expenses.
- Gradually hire several full-time technology specialists.
- Coordinate the organized aggregation of information at PESWiki.com.
- Oversee the vetting and validation of the best technologies in the Top
100 list.
- Source measurement equipment (to purchase, rent, or borrow) to use for
testing.

- Hire a Lab Engineer in Q3 2008 to handle the testing and replication of
technologies.
- Oversee the identification of the most deserving and needy technologies
for business expertise and funding match-up.
- Recommend which conferences NEC personnel should attend.
- Oversee the Academy Dean's functions.
The Academy Dean should have a doctorate
degree, preferably related to alternative energy or related technical areas; and
should be a subject-matter expert in at least one major alternative energy
technical area (e.g. solar, wind, ZPE, ocean/wave/hydro, etc). The Academy Dean's duties will include:
- In the first quarter, create six 10-minute videos to introduce the NEC.
- Oversee the creation of courses on working clean energy technologies,
focusing on the exotic variety that are not being addressed by mainstream
academia.
- Use the PESWiki.com venue
for creating, organizing, and hosting the instructional material.
- Organize the physical presentation of course material, first at
conferences and symposia, then at colleges and universities.

a given energy technology funding need.

their expenses.

laws regarding the same.

The NEC is
planning on headquartering in Portland, Oregon, due to the local support there
of all things green. Most of the above personnel will need to be situated
at the headquarters.
Those who wish to inquire about or submit a CV or Resume for one of the above
positions should send an email to Sterling
D. Allan, founder of the NEC. Applicants should specify which
position is being sought, list credentials applicable to that position, indicate
experience in start-ups and in alt. energy, include at least three references
and a photo, and indicate whether the candidate is willing to relocate to
Portland.
