Over-Unity Hydrogen Researcher Hit by Apparent Arson
Pre-teens tinkering with witchcraft and matches appear to have been
responsible for the tragic loss of property and research material of a scientist
pursuing clean energy solutions.

CALIFORNIA, USA -- On Oct. 17, 2007, advanced electrolysis researcher,
Ken
Rasmussen
left his home for the day only to return to find his garage-shop-office smoldering in
ashes.
This was a couple of days before Southern California was ablaze, leaving many
people there homeless; and this isolated fire further
North apparently turned out to be caused by an act of ritualistic arson by local kids.
Alert neighbors used garden hoses to keep Rasmussen's separate house from catching on fire as well.
Lost were years of notes and research literature from his personal hydrogen research as well as most of his office documentation,
nearly all his tools, and nearly a third of his possessions. Luckily, his
computers were in his house, not his garage at the time. The fire left him without electricity to run his computer or natural gas with which to take hot showers for nine days.
Advanced Hydrogen Research
For several years , Rasmussen and his team have been involved in leading-edge, high-efficiency hydroxy gas generation from water,
with apparent additional energy being harvested from yet-to-be fully understood
forces of nature. The method and rate of gas generation they have achieved is proprietary, but
challenges what the pioneer electrolysis scientist, Michael Faraday predicted to be
possible. Rasmussen's group is among a maverick set of researchers
worldwide pursuing the ability to actually run vehicles on water via harnessing
a yet mysterious energy force of nature.
Rasmussen is also a respected founding member of the New Energy Congress, which
reviews various clean energy technology claims to identify the most promising of
those, creating a Top 100 Clean Energy Technologies listing. (Ref.)

Not First Major Set-Back
A year ago we reported a situation in which a member of Rasmussen's research team was threatened at gunpoint.

A technician was allegedly run off the road near a rural intersection and
accosted by four white, middle-aged males in black suits, carrying Glocks and
Mac tens. Using information which could only have been obtained by
monitoring digital cell phones and e-mail, the assailants portrayed to the
victim that they had total control over his personal life, and was told to
remain silent and to not talk to government authorities. He was told that
if he did not comply, a family member would be killed. The threat also
included all associates if he did not stop work on the process immediately.
Another situation involved a demonstration a couple of years ago of the
technology to a potential financier with loads of money, who apparently did not
expect the device to perform as claimed. When the person saw the device
perform clearly to the specifications, his response was one of fear, and he backed
out, because he did not want to "go up against Big Oil."
Arson Culprits
Six days following the fire, at dusk, Rasmussen saw two pre-teen boys and a
young girl down the alley lighting matches and throwing them. He took his camera and went to where the teens were. As he approached, he heard the girl
reciting what sounded to him to be a witch's spell -- something to the effect: "oh spirit of ... depart from us now".
She then tossed the lit match at dry brush and another wooden structure garage.
Rasmussen flashed a picture, which spurred one of the boys and the girl to flee the scene. But
Rasmussen was able to speak to one of the 11-year-old boys, getting some names from him.
Rasmussen relayed this information to the Fire Marshal, who told him that matches had been found at several recent fires in the region. Matches were also found near
Rasmussen's burned-down garage.
"Kids of this age don't read serious literature. They get these ideas
from [stories like] Harry Potter, and think spells and witchcraft are fun, with
no mature responsible assessment of their actions," said Rasmussen.
The investigation is ongoing, and official charges have yet to be leveled.
Losses
Fortunately, Rasmussen's group's key technology was not lost in the recent
fire. But the fire is a major setback for Rasmussen personally, as well as
for his personal research.
Rasmussen did not have fire insurance at the time, having been in a lean cash flow period.
Tangible losses from the fire are estimated at over $50,000 USD.
