Foundation Accepting Applications for Funding for Prototype Development
The Phoenix Science Foundation was established to fund new energy
technology prototype development, for those ideas that have not yet been
proven. They now have a form for receiving applications from inventors.

KENTUCKY, USA -- The Phoenix Science Foundation posted an online form yesterday
where inventors can submit an application to receive funding to develop a clean
energy device prototype.
The foundation was established recently to provide material supply funding,
technical advice, and design-for-manufacturing support for new energy prototype
development. The foundation sees the demand for such new energy generation
capacity to be higher than ever, and thus a need for industrial leadership in
new product development to answer that demand.
Brooks Agnew, Ph.D., who established the foundation, plans to bring a stack of
these new product applications to Washington D.C. beginning Jan. 10 to massage
some of the contacts he has there. He is confident that he can raise around $10
million, and then operate on the interest, while establishing what he calls a
Perpetual Product Development Fund that is replenished from technologies
successfully introduced to investors.
"The winds of change are blowing", he said, speaking of the
increasingly favorable political climate that is looking for energy solutions
that will relieve U.S. dependence on fossil fuels. He strongly feels that the
supply for new energy devices has been all but non-existent to the consumer. His
track record of delivering new product launches to the customer with seemingly
impossible constraints has made him one of the most sought-after turn-around
experts in the industry.
The Phoenix Science Foundation funding is specifically for prototype
development. Once a working prototype is achieved, government or non-profit
assistance is not needed. The private sector is full of investors willing to put
up money for good technologies. Agnew established a for-profit company to deal
with those situations where prototypes already exist, to introduce them to
investors.
Agnew has extensive experience bringing prototypes to maturation, having
successfully done so with twenty-four consecutive situations in various fields.
Additionally, he is responsible for around half a billion dollars in process
improvement, achieving a "six sigma blackbelt" distinction for his
abilities and performance in that regard. The "six sigma" has to do
with a level of accuracy in production in which there is less than one error per
million units assembled. In addition, his Lean Manufacturing success has saved
thousands of jobs through process improvement projects. Coined, Lean
Six-Sigma, the roster of such experts throughout the U.S. is very slim due to
the proficiency in high-level mathematics required to be successful.
He is confident that these successes, along with his connections, will help
loosen funds from the nations Capital for some of these new energy
technologies that have been floundering for lack of prototype funding and
product development leadership.
Those who apply for prototype development funding should not expect an easy
lifestyle with salary if their technology is selected. Agnew philosophically
believes that the prototype development stage is a critical path with specific
activities and expenditures. The process involves correctly forming the vision
of the completed product, then working backward to the current state. Follow
the path, and you cannot fail, if your vision was correct, he professes.
The foundation will not merely cut a check for the full amount requested,
leaving it up to the inventor to spend it prudently. Rather, the foundation will
design a product development budget with the inventor and then, acting like the
purchasing department in a factory, directly purchase specific items listed in
the proposal. The foundation will not include time reimbursement in its payouts
except where outsourced professional services are required.
The application form requests the following information:
250-word abstract outlining the technology proposal
Photo of the applicant
Photo or diagram of the device
Present stage of development of the device
Estimated budget for building prototype
Agnew plans to use the New Energy
Congress to help screen the applications. A tentative summit has been
planned in Salt Lake City for early January to build the portfolio of projects.
The Congress was established more than a year ago to "[review] the most
promising claims to up-and-coming clean, renewable, affordable, reliable energy
technologies, in order to come up with a weighted list of recommendations of the
best technologies".
Tax-free donations to the Phoenix Science Foundation can be remitted through the
New Energy Movement, which has
501(c)3 status.
