Pure Energy Systems News
Ken Rauen serves as Science Advisor and Research & Development
Director for PES Network, Inc. He is recognized in the New Energy Congress and
in Pure Energy Systems Network as a invaluable resource person in the
"frontier physics" side of alternative energy, both as a scientist and
as an inventor.
The following document, slightly modified, was prepared on Oct. 6, 2006 for a financial
consultant, based in Milano, Italy, representing possible Italian private
investors, in an energy investment probe they are undertaking.
I suggest to you several technologies that are worth your effort (and the
world's benefit) to pursue. They are:
Roger Stringham's
"Sonofusion"
Various solid-state devices by Magnetic
Power, Inc.
Paulo and Alexandra Correa's Pulsed Abnormal
Glow Discharge
Lawrence Nelson's
"electron trap"
My work in "advanced
thermodynamics."
1. Roger Stringham's
"Sonofusion"
I replicated Roger Stringham's sonofusion at New Energy Research Laboratory
(NERL), from 2000 to 2003. I know Roger, and Roger is confident of my
understanding of his work. I represented him at the American Physical Society
Annual Meeting in Los Angeles in March of 2005. Roger lives in Hawaii and could
not travel for that meeting.

He has a design that is ready for commercialization, producing 100 watts
of heat around 100 degrees Celsius with only 50 watts of electricity input, in a
device that weighs 20 grams and fits in the palm of your hand. They may be
connected in modular arrays to produce very large outputs.
Initial markets exist for these devices, where electricity is used for heating,
such as domestic hot water in many places around the world, and electricity in
general in the Canadian province of Quebec where everything has traditionally
been powered by hydroelectric generation.
Greater potentials exist for sonofusion, but this is ready for commercialization
now.
Roger is a scientist and not a businessman, as he will readily admit. All he
needs is investment and business management, and this product is "off and
running."

2. Magnetic Power, Inc.
Magnetic Power, Inc. (MPI), in Sebastopol, California, has excellent laboratory
developments that I believe are very close to big breakthroughs for commercial
potential. They have several "magnetic motor" and other related energy
source inventions that are currently laboratory curiosities.
I know Mark Goldes, the CEO of MPI. I think he is one of the most dedicated
business people in this field, plus he is technically and scientifically
well-grounded, and I think he is honest. When things are not going well, he says
so. He does not overstate things like many promoters do. From years of personal
communication with him, I think he is a wonderful resource in this field and
deserves to be investigated for potential funding.
He and MPI have developed a room temperature superconductor that was funded for
several years by US Air Force grants. It has been kept quiet, but is very real.
They did demonstrate superconductors, but have not been successful yet with
making long enough wires to be useful. I have had one of their superconductor
samples in my hands. All I could verify is that it was a plastic coating on top
of a piece of copper, and measurement across the plastic layer was a "dead
short."

3. Correa's PAGD
The Correa's PAGD is one of the best scientifically developed new energy devices
I know. It produces electricity in the kilowatt range from a vacuum tube that
you can hold in two hands. They say the energy source is the vacuum continuum of
space. Regardless of the source, it is very real.
The Correas, like Roger Stringham, are scientists and lack the business support
to move this project forward.
General Motors looked at it. GM's engineers loved it, but upper management
stopped the deal because "electric cars are window dressing," even
with the energy being totally free. GM is still too close to oil interests.

4. Lawrence
Nelson's "Electron Trap"
Lawrence Nelson visited NERL in 2003 and demonstrated his invention to NERL, at
a time when I was with NERL. I worked with Lawrence for one month and
successfully replicated his invention under his supervision, documenting more
energy output than the input. Like PAGD (below), his "electron trap"
is a vacuum tube technology that derives its energy from the vacuum continuum of
space.
Lawrence told me recently that he has a 1000 watt electric generator running in
his laboratory right now, using only 200 watts of electricity input. He is also
close to commercialization, but like the others, lacks business experience and
funding.
He is a scientist, a degreed physicist, and he knows what he is doing.
He is not seeking public exposure but is eager to find funding for his project.
Please do not promote his website unless it is done privately for serious
interest in funding his company. His device can be as big or even bigger than
the Correa PAGD, in my opinion.

5. Rauen Environmental Heat
Engine
My invention in some ways is even more unusual than the previous four. I have an
engine design that can convert the ambient heat of the environment into work,
without any waste heat. This has been believed to be impossible for the last 150
years. I have conceptual and experimental evidence that the heat of the
environment IS available to run heat engines! This is the perfect energy source!
It is perfectly clean and harmless; we know where it comes from and where it
goes to, and biological life has thrived with it for millions of years. It also
is available everywhere the Earth is inhabitable, and is available all the time,
in any quantity you wish to have.
I was invited to attend the symposium, "The Second Law of Thermodynamics:
Foundations and Status," at the 87th Annual Meeting of the Pacific Division
of the American Society for the Advancement of Science, held at the University
of San Diego in June of this year. See http://www.sou.edu/aaaspd/SanDiego2006/Index.html.
Click on "Symposia" along the left column, then click on #11 on the
next page. This symposium was attended by about 25 people who were mostly
university physics professors from around the world. The lecture schedule was
full so I could not speak there. Instead, I set up a table-top physics
experiment that the attendees could examine and discuss the experimental results
with me individually and in detail. Most attendees witnessed the demonstration
and most of them agreed with what I say is happening. Only two remained
skeptical but did not know any other way to explain the experimental result. The
result was a quasi-spontaneous separation of heat into a hot zone and a cold
zone, with no input energy.
The science is completely known, and the physics professors either agreed with
me or else they had no alternate explanation. The discovery is comparable to the
extension of classical mechanics to quantum mechanics. Classical thermodynamics
is largely intact, but it does not explain everything. I have discovered a new
continent of exploration in thermodynamics, in a scientific discipline that has
been "closed" for 100 years.
I built a prototype engine in 2001 with some funding from France, but lost the
funding when September 11, 2001, happened. How ironic! The funding should have
been increased, but instead it disappeared completely. The engine did not run on
its own, due to mechanical design issues. I am a chemist, not a mechanical
engineer! The science is done; the technology is "low tech" and
well-established. It is just a matter of applying good engineering to it and
good business management, both of which I know too little about to do it myself.

Summary
These are my suggestions to you. I will be happy to discuss these inventions and
business opportunities with you.
I hope your business attitude is based upon a commitment to Humankind, and not
merely motivated for financial profit. Remember, business exists for the sake of
people; people do not exist for the sake of business! I am very discouraged by
general business attitudes, especially here in the United States. Look at what a
mess is going on in Iraq! It is all driven by money, not the best interests of
Humankind. Problems cannot be solved at the same level at which they were
created. As we step into a new world of energy, so too, we must step into a new
world of commerce and trade, with new attitudes of what business is all about.
