Magnetic Power Modules™ on fast path to market

Early production of demonstration devices anticipated for 2006.  Prototypes said to demonstrate more output than input.  Independent testing planned.

Automated Test Bench for developing Magnetic Energy Modules™

SEBASTAPOL, CALIFORNIA, USA -- Magnetic Power, Inc., which claims to have figured out how to harness the organized motion of subatomic particles responsible for the force of magnetism, has announced that steps are being taken to enable early release of demonstration versions of their Magnetic Power Modules.

MPI reports that their prototypes have demonstrated more output than input. Once their in-house testing has ascertained that this over-unity effect is consistent and beyond possible measurement error, an independent lab has agreed to undertake testing to validate the work.

A pending patent application entitled Solid-State Electric Generator will be published by the U.S. Patent Office in late July.

While these early demonstration units will produce only a few Watts, the company says that units of this type of Magnetic Power Module can be combined in a manner analogous to photovoltaic cells. The resulting generators will range from prototype pre-manufacturing single-module demonstration devices, which are to be released later this year, to multiple modules and various combinations capable of yielding more power, which could be in production by next year.

Units capable of generating electricity for individual homes will be an early target market of the company, with automotive power being another priority. Distributed generation of electricity for industry will follow. MPI envisions that eventually enough modules could be linked together to produce a Megawatt, or more, for power plants.

Conversion of utility type transformers into generators is another part of their commercialization vision. MPI plans to acquire 3 kva transformers, which they believe they will be able to convert into generators with no moving parts. The resulting 1 to 1.5 kW units are expected to be about the size of a microwave oven.

1,500 Watts is the standard rating for plug-in electric household heaters. MPI envisions a strong market for appliances that have a self-contained power source.

For example, during grid power failures, frozen and fresh produce can be lost.  So one application that those who license the technology might pursue is to develop refrigerators with internal power capability for trucks, grocery vendors and home use.

The company plans to develop optimized designs with cooperating manufacturers, which will reduce the size and weight of this type of Magnetic Power Module.

If all goes as planned, among the first Demonstration Devices produced by the company will be at least one solid-state system and one system having moving parts. With sufficient funds, the company expects that their entire commercialization program will become an around-the-clock effort.

Automotive demonstrations of MPI power offer new hope for consumers and industry alike. MPI is considering various demonstration prototypes. One is likely to be modification of a plug-in hybrid -- substituting Magnetic Power Modules for the grid connector.

Strategic Partner discussions, to accelerate development and produce MPI’s Modules, are under way worldwide. Early production in several countries now appears likely.

As a result of the introduction of these demonstration models, the company expects that the price of oil could conceivably drop as markets absorb the reality of a near-term alternative. "The elimination of the need for fossil or nuclear fuels now appears to be on the horizon, along with slowing and perhaps reversal of Greenhouse Warming."

That optimistic outlook may be tempered by the realities of consumer skepticism that must be overcome with the introduction of such a revolutionary approach to energy.  Most will want to wait until the bugs are ironed out and the technology has some longevity before they buy into the concept.
