Molly and Paul Pantone
in bygone happier days
|
I was able to attend Paul Pantone's hearing this morning before Judge Royal
Hanson at the Third District Court in West Jordan City, Utah.
Paul had a new attorney, who been introduced to the case for the first time
earlier this morning.
Also present in the room were two legal-knowledgeable associates who had flown
in from Texas to help Paul.
An extension was granted to Paul, with upcoming court dates on Oct. 5 and Nov.
1. If I understood correctly, one of the matters to be determined is
"no competency," which has to do with alleged carbon monoxide levels
in the Pantone home (due to defective heating system) that affected the mental
processes of Paul and of Molly, so as to be in a state of impairment when they
had contacted the legal authorities on various matters during a certain period
of time.
Another issue presented by the plaintiff (Attorney General's office) was that
Paul's wife, Molly, has requested no contact whatsoever from Paul, including via
any third party. I mention this personal matter so that those of you who know
both Paul and Molly can avoid inadvertently creating problems by trying to play
go-between, which could get either one of them in trouble.
Paul was visibly shaken when he was told of Molly's request regarding him.
This measure seemed to have a finality to it that put an irrevocable end to
years of working through problems in their turbulent marriage.
The hearing lasted between 5 and 10 minutes, and did not address any of Paul's
defense arguments regarding the charges of security fraud, which have been
levied against him by the Utah Attorney General's office. Paul was ready today,
with evidence, to defend himself against those charges, which apparently will be
addressed in subsequent hearings.
Conversations in the hall
I had a chance to visit in the hall with Paul and his associates after they left
the court chambers.
One of the Texas friends said he has known Paul since 1991, and has seen some
six different technologies demonstrated to his satisfaction. He obviously
believes that Paul has viable and worthwhile technology.
He pointed out that at 450ΊC water goes into a "super seam" state,
dissociating into H and O. If ignited in that state, it implodes, but with
the addition of just 5% air, it becomes explosive. He said that this
scientific fact has been removed from textbooks. It is the basis of Paul's
technology that purportedly enables a car to run on water.
Another person in the hall who had flown in to help Paul, said that there was a
person who drove to the Extraordinary Technology
conference in Salt Lake City, July 28-31, who had a modified version of
Pantone's GEET on his car. He had driven all the way from New England on
less than a gallon of gas. The person who took a test drive in the car,
from Salt Lake City to Provo and back, said that the car had tremendous power
and ran very well. This is apparently unusual for a GEET system.
GEET Rumblings
In other email and phone conversations I've had in the past few days, some say
they have tried to replicate Paul's technology but to no avail. Others say
it works great. Others give stories of their long involvement with Paul
and their eventual realization that the technology doesn't work as they at first
thought; then giving explanations about how to do it the correct way.
Had people not interceded on Paul's behalf, both in bailing him out of jail on
Aug. 25 after his 15-day stay, as well as in providing legal help, the question
of GEET viability may have never been answered. The judge had been ready
to sentence Paul, using a public defender, which would likely result in 7 to 40
years; and underhanded workings appeared to be in place to see that he did not
survive for long in jail.
Paul Pantone and GEET now have a second wind.
